Access, Subscription Information and Free Trials
The John Johnson Collection has been created with support from the Joint Information Systems Committee (JISC) through its Digitisation Programme, and is available free of charge to all UK universities, further education institutions, schools and public libraries.
If you live in the UK and your library does not already provide access to the John Johnson Collection, please ask your librarian toand return it to ProQuest at the address specified.
Please note that it is not possible to gain access to the John Johnson Collection other than via your university, college, school or public library. ProQuest is unable to respond to requests for access from individual UK users.
Library and higher education institutions outside the UK
We welcome subscriptions to the John Johnson Collection from universities and other higher education institutions as well as public and special libraries. If you belong to such an institution and would like to access the collection, please ask your librarian to request a free trial subscription by following the instructions below.
If you do not attend a higher education institution, we would be pleased to set up a free trial at your nearest public library. The librarian or information officer should contact us by following the relevant link below and completing a trial request form.
Please note that it is very rare for us to set up free trial access for individuals. Individual pricing is not available and all trial requests will be considered on a case-by-case basis. The John Johnson Collection is aimed at the educational and library market and is priced accordingly. We reserve the right to refuse a trial subscription.
